This section provides links to locally available data and pointers to
a variety of useful external sources of social science data.
Sources of Social Science Data at Duke
- Inter-university Consortium for Political and
Social Research (ICPSR) - managed by the Social Science Data Center
within the Department of Sociology, this is the access point for requesting
and finding locally available ICPSR data at Duke
- Perkins
Library, Public Documents and Maps - the access point for Perkins
Library data holdings, with descriptive links to many other external
data sources
- Triangle
Census Research Data Center (TCRDC) - based in the Duke Economics
Department, the TCRDC is a newly established partnership between the
U.S. Census Bureau's Center
for Economic Studies and Duke University, with additional support
from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina
State University. Under this partnership, the Census Bureau provides
restricted access to unpublished microdata from the Bureau's economic
and demographic censuses and surveys.
- National
Long Term Care Survey - is a longitudinal survey of the population
of chronically disabled elderly persons in the United States, which
is distributed by the Duke Center for Demographic Studies
